25 Years in Business — May 2005!

I would like to thank so many who have made it possible for me to celebrate 25 years of being in business for myself.

Before going into business I spent 3 1/2 years at the Sunshine Ballroom & Dance Studio in Pt. Loma and received some excellent training before they closed in 1980 (particularly from Steve Bell).Pattie Wells

I taught private lessons for the next 3 years or so before going into a partnership with Ron Seale, a scientist at Scripps Institute at that time. He convinced me to offer class lessons and we developed some ideas and started offering classes in 1983. At the end of that year Eric John Munson talked me into starting a monthly dance which came to be called The Jitterbug Club on Sundays (now weekly) in March 1984.

So many people have helped at dances and classes since that I could not mention them all here but want to say thank you to all of you and regret not having enough space to mention all of you! In the early 90s I received so much help from Lucky Pahl to build the business. Wes Harker convinced me to move into the current location in 1998 and Milt Beard as handyman/electrician has consistently assisted us. Thanks to all the instructors without whom we could not offer the diversity we have. Thanks to Jamie Hanrahan who has been my friend and helped more than I can say since about 1988 (audio equipment, computers, music, mics, etc.).

Also, thanks to Bruce Williams for love and support since November 1999, as well as all of you for your continued support and enthusiasm, and the joy you bring me.

Thank you for 25 years!

Warmly,

Pattie Wells
