What is Zumba Fitness?

Zumba Fitness is a fitness program that incorporates Latin dance. It incorporates dance moves from different types of music. For example, programs include Latin salsa, merengue, bachata, as well as, pop, rock and other types of contemporary music.

Who created it, when, where?

Alberto “Beto” Perez started it by accident in the mid-nineties.  It  happened when he forgot his aerobic music for a class he was teaching and substituted salsa and merengue music. Also, he used some some cool Latin dance moves for the class. Eventually, Beto brought his zumba fitness parties to Miami, Florida. He met some other people who joined to form the new company in 2001. In addition, zumba is trademarked and the brand has spread throughout the world. Now, one can find every kind of products including DVD’s, clothing, music CD’s, accessories plus it has its own video game!
