At the age of 12, MaryBeth began her lifelong involvement with the performing arts. She began as an actor and singer, completing a Bachelors degree in Theatre from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In Chicago, she was able to supplement her theatre experience with modern, tap and jazz dance. During her time at Northwestern, she discovered a small ballroom dance studio and found her new passion. She soon became an avid social dancer and amateur competitor and in 1991 decided to further her training at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. As a graduate student, MaryBeth taught social dance and fitness classes at the university and traveled extensively throughout the western United States and Asia with the BYU Formation Dance Team.
After receiving her Masters Degree of Dance from BYU, she moved to San Diego and has been an active professional competitor, performer, choreographer and teacher in the local dance scene ever since. Currently, she serves as Associate Faculty at MiraCosta College and Southwestern College and is the Dance Master for the San Dieguito Cotillion. Her latest studies and training have led her to add yoga to her repertoire of teaching expertise. She is delighted to bring her experience and enthusiasm of Latin, Ballroom and Swing dance and Hatha Yoga to Pattie Wells Dancetime Center.
